Baseball Recap: Thomasville Finds Home Field Redemption Against High Point Central

There's no place like home for Thomasville, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They put the hurt on the High Point Central Bison with a sharp 23-3 win on Wednesday. Considering the Bulldogs' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Elijah McNeair made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. McNeair was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Travail Barnes, who fired off two triples, four RBI, and two runs while going 4-for-5. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February of 2024. Mkyel Duncan was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing Four bases. while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Thomasville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .610. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-4. As for High Point Central, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thomasville will take on Starmount at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for High Point Central, they will square off against Eastern Guilford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
