The Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Lions will be taking part in a tournament against the Estrella Foothills Wolves at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. Pusch Ridge Christian Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.2 runs per game this season.
Last Tuesday, Pusch Ridge Christian Academy got the win against Apache Junction by a conclusive 18-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Josie Burnside made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave her a new career-low. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 1-for-2. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Eiva Loftis and Milan Daniels did most of the damage at the plate: Loftis scored two runs while going 2-for-2, while Daniels scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Loftis a new career-high in RBI (three). Addie Norris was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .684. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Estrella Foothills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Cibola, falling 21-1.
Estrella Foothills saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Geneviecia O'Shea, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that O'Shea hit this season.
The win got Pusch Ridge Christian Academy back to even at 2-2. As for Estrella Foothills, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.
Estrella Foothills' hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Pusch Ridge Christian Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Estrella Foothills, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 strikeouts.
