Excel was the  28-22 winner over Flomaton when they last played one another  back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers lost  28-7 to the Hurricanes on Friday. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Flomaton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Antwan Bowen, who rushed for 89 yards and one  score. Another rusher making a difference was  TJ Hall, who rushed for 67 yards and one  TD on only nine carries.
Excel now  has a losing record of 1-2. As for Flomaton, their victory was  their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 3-0.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Excel will have a little extra prep time after the  defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Cottage Hill Christian Academy at 7:00  p.m.  on  the 19th. As for Flomaton, they will head out to  square off against T.R. Miller  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
