The Burroughs Burros can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They came out on top against Sultana by a score of 52-42. The victory was just what Burroughs needed coming off of a 61-39 defeat in their prior contest.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Burroughs to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jeffrey Brady, who scored ten points along with five rebounds. Trevor Rowland was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five assists and four steals.
Sultana's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kenyon Peters, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alec Rodriguez, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Burroughs' win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-6. As for Sultana, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Burroughs will take on Hesperia at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hesperia presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Burroughs in California (Hesperia is ranked 223rd, while Burroughs is ranked 755th). As for Sultana, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Oak Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Oak Hills has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
