The Sumner-Eddyville-Miller Mustangs can now show off 13 landslide victories after their most recent match on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Twin Loup 61-31 at home. With Sumner-Eddyville-Miller ahead 35-9 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Sumner-Eddyville-Miller's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mikah O'Neill, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. O'Neill has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last five times she's played. Jaycelyn Hoos was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Twin Loup saw an underclassman step up: Carsen Vincent scored two points along with two steals. It was the first time this season that Vincent grabbed two or more steals.
Sumner-Eddyville-Miller's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-2. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 31.5 points. As for Twin Loup, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.
Sumner-Eddyville-Miller will head out on the road to square off against Overton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Overton will roll in looking for their 18th straight victory, something Sumner-Eddyville-Miller surely won't give up without a fight. As for Twin Loup, they will head out on the road to challenge Central Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Central Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Tuesday.
