Louise is 0-8 against Schulenburg since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Louise Hornets are on the road again and play against the Schulenburg Shorthorns at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 61-30, which was the final score in Louise's tilt against Flatonia on Tuesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Louise in their matchups with Flatonia: they've now lost eight in a row.
Meanwhile, Schulenburg came up short against Ganado on Friday and fell 44-37.
Despite the loss, Schulenburg saw an underclassman step up: Alana Herzik scored five points along with 15 rebounds and three steals. Those 15 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Arianna Vincent, who scored six points along with ten rebounds.
Even though they lost, Schulenburg were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Louise has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Schulenburg, their loss dropped their record down to 3-15.
Louise was dealt a bruising 57-24 loss at the hands of Schulenburg in their previous meeting back in January. Can Louise avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
