Having just played yesterday, the Tikigaq Harpooners will get right back to it and host the Scammon Bay Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. One thing working in Tikigaq's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests.
You can't lose the match if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Tikigaq's strategy against Nunamiut on Thursday. Tikigaq was the clear victor by a 82-61 margin over Nunamiut. The victory was just what Tikigaq needed coming off of a 82-55 loss in their prior match.
Scammon Bay posted their closest win since January 5th on Thursday. They had just enough and edged Non Varsity Tournament Opponent out 56-53.
Josiah Sundown was his usual excellent self, scoring 34 points. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dallas Kaganak, who scored 12 points.
Tikigaq has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 3-11 record this season. As for Scammon Bay, their victory bumped their record up to 12-3.
Tikigaq was able to grind out a solid victory over Scammon Bay in their previous meeting back in January of 2022, winning 94-86. Will Tikigaq repeat their success, or does Scammon Bay have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
