Upland (Calif.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 45-20 win over
Alta Loma (Calif.).
In the first quarter, the Highlanders/Scots put up 20 points. Upland scored on a
Jacob Chapman touchdown run, a
Tyler Hilinski touchdown pass to
Trevor Wright and a touchdown pass by Hilinski to
Devan Clark.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Chapman in the first quarter, UHS led 38-7 at the half.
Luke Van Ginkel played well for the Highlanders/Scots in the victory. He kicked one field goal and six extra points.
The Braves came in giving up 17.1 points per game this season. Alta Loma struggled against Upland's offense, which entered the game scoring 34.3 points per game.
The loss was the third in a row for AL.
In a Baseline game next week Upland (5-3) takes on Etiwanda, and Alta Loma (4-4) will go up against Rancho Cucamonga also in a Baseline game.
