 West Aurora is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home  on Friday. They claimed a resounding  53-0 victory over Proviso East at home. The  win was some much needed relief for the Blackhawks as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.
  Bryce Riley and  Mason Atkins were among the main playmakers for West Aurora as the former rushed for 58 yards and a touchdown and the latter punched in a rushing score. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget  Nicholas Weisse, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

 Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Yorkville's offense. They fell just short of Plainfield South by a score of  3-0 on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Foxes came into the  contest with a sizable advantage  in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings  (they are ranked 130th, while the Cougars are ranked 326th).
