After flying high against the Washington-Wilkes Tigers on Friday, the Greene County Tigers came back down to earth. Greene County took a 49-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Warren County. While losing is never fun, Greene County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 389th, while Warren County is ranked 145th).
Warren County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Saniya Tolbert out in front who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Alecia Tucker, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Greene County bumped their record down to 2-7 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Warren County, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.
Greene County and Georgia Military College will face off at 6:00 p.m. on December 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Georgia Military College comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. Warren County will be home for the holidays to greet Treutlen at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
