Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only South Lenoir walked away with it. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Southeast Alamance Stallions a 6-0 shutout on Friday. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Jake Howard, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Gage Howard, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

South Lenoir is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Southeast Alamance, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-8.

Coming up, South Lenoir will take on Whiteville on Tuesday. The Wolfpack will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Blue Devils surely won't give up without a fight. Southeast Alamance does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
