Given Belle Chasse's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while South Plaquemines is ranked 262nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Belle Chasse to victory were Kyle Reeves and Jaylen Hughes Ingram. Reeves scored 13 points along with six rebounds and five steals, while Hughes Ingram scored 18 points along with eight rebounds. The matchup was Hughes Ingram's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Louviere, who scored ten points.
Belle Chasse's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-7. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for South Plaquemines, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.
Belle Chasse will head out on the road to face off against Hammond at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Plaquemines, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Phoenix at 6:15 p.m. on January 12th. Phoenix is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
