Leading Sharyland to victory were Grace Shahin and Mariajose Campos. Shahin scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Campos scored 12 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Bargas, who scored four points along with three steals.
Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest bumped their record down to 1-7 with that loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.4 points per game. As for Sharyland, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest will be home for the holidays to greet Rowe at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Rowe presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest in Texas (Rowe is ranked 494th, while Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest is ranked 1423rd). As for Sharyland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Vela at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Vela will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
