It was a good run, but  Nipomo unfortunately witnessed the end of their  five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took  a  6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Orcutt Academy Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  8-4  on April 3rd.
 Ava Camacho spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned  (and three unearned) runs on four hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Vivianne Goss made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 1-for-3 with one  home run and two  RBI.  Madisyn Vasquez also deserves some recognition as  she  snagged her first  stolen base of the season.
Nipomo's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Orcutt Academy,  the  victory  got them back to even at 9-9-1.
 Coming up, Nipomo will challenge Morro Bay at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Orcutt Academy, they will head out to  challenge Atascadero  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
