After flying high against the TECH Freire Charter Dragons last Monday, High School of the Future came back down to earth. High School of the Future fell to Benjamin Franklin 65-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
High School of the Future's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was D Lubin, who scored 21 points. A Jeune was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Benjamin Franklin's win on Tuesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Soukare Fane, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds. Fane hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nazire Johnson, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds.
High School of the Future's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Benjamin Franklin, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.
High School of the Future and Roxborough will face off at 3:15 p.m. on January 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Roxborough has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 299 points over their last five matches. Benjamin Franklin on the road again on Thursday and play against Martin Luther King at 3:15 p.m. on January 18th. Martin Luther King will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 463rd, while Benjamin Franklin is ranked 211th).
