The Tooele Buffaloes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 54-30 walloping at the hands of Murray. Tooele found out winning isn't easy when you make five fewer threes than your opponent.
Josie Kennedy and Kennedy Searle certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Kennedy scored seven points along with ten rebounds, while Searle scored five points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
It was another big night for Mia Auclaire, who scored 24 points along with six rebounds and five steals for Murray. Auclaire hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Charlotte Scherbel, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Tooele has not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Murray, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tooele will challenge Hillcrest at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hillcrest is on an eight-game streak of home losses, Tooele a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. As for Murray, they will head out on the road to take on Park City at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Murray focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday.
