The North Hagerstown Hubs are taking a road trip to square off against the Boonsboro Warriors at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
North Hagerstown will bounce into Wednesday's game after beating Governor Thomas Johnson, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. North Hagerstown came out on top against Governor Thomas Johnson by a score of 9-5 on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hubs.
Logan Hoffman looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.
At the plate, North Hagerstown got a massive performance out of James Ortiz, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5. Ian Kelley was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
North Hagerstown kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Governor Thomas Johnson only managed seven hits.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Boonsboro, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Williamsport on Monday, sneaking past 4-2. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Russell Colliere made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Colliere was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
Colliere wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Darian Gaskins, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
North Hagerstown's record now sits at 2-0. As for Boonsboro, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
North Hagerstown took their victory against Boonsboro when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 13-3. Does North Hagerstown have another victory up their sleeve, or will Boonsboro turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
