After a string of three wins, the Chickasaw Chieftains's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a hard 57-43 fall against Clarke County. If Chickasaw hoped to take revenge for the 53-37 loss against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Chickasaw's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marvin Brooks, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. JaMarion Osborne was another key contributor, scoring four points along with ten rebounds and five steals.
Even though they lost, Chickasaw smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Chickasaw's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-6. As for Clarke County, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-10 record this season.
Chickasaw will be playing at home against Washington County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clarke County, they will head out on the road to take on Blacksher at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Blacksher is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
