Baseball Recap: Oxford Extends Winning Streak to Four

Oxford entered their tilt with Crosby on Wednesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Bulldogs 15-2. The Wolverines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by eight runs or more this season.

Oxford gave Octavius Carlson the start and clearly made the right call: he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Carlson has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Nolan Sikorski and Jackson Geisweit did most of the damage at the plate: Sikorski got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base, while Geisweit went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Cole Cianflone also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Oxford's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Crosby, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
