Pace Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight  defeat. They took  a  47-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jackson Jaguars. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season,  with their most recent  loss being a  65-54  defeat  last Tuesday.

 Despite the  loss, Pace Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman  Megan Wrigley  almost  dropped  a double-double with nine  points and nine  rebounds. Those nine points gave  Wrigley a new career-high.
 Leading Jackson to victory were  Journey Conley and  Janiyah Weaver.  Conley  dropped  a double-double with 17  points and 14  boards, while  Weaver  went 5-for-6  on her way to 10 points along with eight  rebounds and five  assists. Conley's afternoon made it five games in a row in which  she has scored at least 16 points.  Janiya McCoy was another key player,  putting up eight  points and three  steals.
Pace Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Jackson, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record  this season.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pace Academy will head out to  square off against Harris County  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Jackson,  a feisty cat fight will be fought as  the Jaguars  duke it out with  the Panthers at 5:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Starr's Mill will roll in looking for their  ninth straight  win, something Jackson surely won't give up without a fight.
