Even though the Pisgah Bears scored an imposing 63 points on Friday, the West Henderson Falcons still came out on top. West Henderson walked away with a 71-63 victory over Pisgah. Given West Henderson's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while Pisgah is ranked 262nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
West Henderson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Truitt Manuel led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 17 points and nine assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Lyda, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds.
Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sawyer Belue, who scored 16 points along with three steals. Belue hasn't dropped below 16 points for three straight games. Dominick Messer was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.

West Henderson will head out on the road to take on Franklin at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Franklin is coming into the contest with four straight victories at home, meaning West Henderson will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. Pisgah will take on Tuscola at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Pisgah's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 11 contests.
