Meridian HomeSchool had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took their  game  on Saturday with ease, bagging  a  36-8 win over the Magnolia Wildcats.
 Shelton Pace went supernova, rushing for 189 yards and a pair of  touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per carry, and also picking up 55 receiving yards and one  score. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D,  picking up  a  sack, forcing one fumble,  and making three total tackles (2.0 for loss).
 Another reason for the win was Meridian HomeSchool's imposing  defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by  Caleb Adams and  Ethan Scott, who racked up  five sacks between them.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Meridian HomeSchool will have some time to savor their  victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hebron Christian at 7:00  p.m.  on  the 22nd. As for Magnolia, they will head out to  take on Varsity Opponent  at 7:00  p.m.  on Saturday.
