Baseball Recap: Pelion Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Batesburg-Leesville, Pelion was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Horse Creek Academy Stallions 6-5. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Stallions recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Alan Moore made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Blake Brown looked comfortable as he went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2025.

Moore wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Branham, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI. That's the most RBI Branham has posted since back in March of 2025. Kolten Rogers was another, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Pelion always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Pelion's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Horse Creek Academy, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-8.

Coincidentally, Pelion and Horse Creek Academy will both be playing Batesburg-Leesville the next time they take the field. The Stallions will host the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Panthers will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
