The Rice Bulldogs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Blooming Grove 85-46 on the road. Rice has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 27 points or more this season.
Saniya Burks was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 62 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Nezar, who scored seven points along with three steals.
The victory (which was Rice's 11th in a row) raised their record to 16-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points per game. As for Blooming Grove, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-14.
Rice will be playing in front of their home fans against Eustace at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Eustace is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. As for Blooming Grove, they will head out on the road to square off against Malakoff at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Malakoff presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Blooming Grove in Texas (Malakoff is ranked 91st, while Blooming Grove is ranked 764th).
