Baseball Recap: Anahuac Sets Scoring Season-High Against Buna

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Anahuac). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Buna Cougars a 16-0 shutout on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Logan Trotter was incredible, scoring four runs while going 3-for-3. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Eli Swonke also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Anahuac always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Anahuac's record now sits at 6-12-1. As for Buna, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

Anahuac will have a chance to go back-to-back against Buna: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
