Baseball Recap: Millard South Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Millard South came tearing into Thursday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Omaha Westside Warriors get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won six matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Tyler Albert tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Will Thomas was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jaxson Appuhn, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Millard South always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Omaha Westside only posted an OBP of .059.

Millard South's win bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Omaha Westside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.

Coincidentally, Millard South and Omaha Westside will both be playing Lincoln East the next time they take the field. The Warriors will head out to face the Spartans at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, while the Patriots will play them later in the day, at 11:30 a.m.
