ASU Prep Poly scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 65-30 win over Sequoia Charter at home. The win was familiar territory for ASU Prep Poly who now have four in a row.
ASU Prep Poly was led to victory by Aidan Collins and CJ Welcome. Collins dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds, while Welcome scored 12 points along with four steals. Welcome is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Turner, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Sequoia Charter lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jack Roehl, who scored 14 points. That was a full 46.7% of Sequoia Charter's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Asher Roehl, who scored five points.
ASU Prep Poly pushed their record up to 7-3 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Sequoia Charter, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
ASU Prep Poly will head out on the road to take on Mission Heights Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Mission Heights Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 last Wednesday. As for Sequoia Charter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Empower College Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
