The Piscataway Chiefs suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Saturday. They were the victim of a tough 50-30 defeat at the hands of Wayne Valley. While losing is never fun, Piscataway can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 269th, while Wayne Valley is ranked 114th).
It was another big night for Anthony Apicella, who scored 23 points along with three steals for Wayne Valley. Apicella hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Hudson Devine was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight assists.
Piscataway bumped their record down to 3-8 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Wayne Valley, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-4.
Piscataway will be playing in front of their home fans against Jackson Memorial at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Jackson Memorial is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Wayne Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against Wayne Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
