The Pass Christian Pirates posted their closest win yet this season on Friday. They skirted past Greene County 52-49. The win was nothing new for Pass Christian as they're now sitting on three straight.
Greene County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rakhiya Moody, who scored 23 points along with eight steals and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moody has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of ShaNya McLeod, who scored 13 points along with six steals.
Pass Christian is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-11 record this season. As for Greene County, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pass Christian will take on Poplarville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Greene County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bay at 6:00 a.m. on Friday. Bay presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Greene County in Mississippi (Bay is ranked 44th, while Greene County is ranked 127th).
