Balboa is 0-10 against Lincoln since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Balboa Buccaneers on the road again and play against the Lincoln Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on January 25th. Balboa will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1093rd, while Lincoln is ranked 485th).
Balboa scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 80-64 win over Mission. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Jason Hart was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 22 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Je'Mon Brown, who scored 17 points along with six assists and five steals.
Meanwhile, Lincoln waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Lowell by a score of 53-40.
Balboa's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-12. As for Lincoln, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-10 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Balboa, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 44-27 loss to Lincoln when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Balboa avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
