Lawrenceville is 1-9 against the Tigers since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Lawrenceville Indians will head out on the road to square off against the Paris Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Tuesday, Lawrenceville was the victim of a rough 61-37 loss at the hands of the Tigers. Lawrenceville has struggled against the Tigers recently, as their match on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Addeline Sanders, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. Keely Breen was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Lawrenceville struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Paris suffered a rough 71-47 loss at the hands of the Irish on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Paris can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while the Irish are ranked 18th).
Lawrenceville has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season. As for Paris, they dropped their record down to 15-11 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Lawrenceville took a serious blow against the Tigers in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 69-28. Can Lawrenceville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
