Perkiomen Valley is 2-8 against Spring-Ford since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Vikings will look to defend their home field against the Rams at 4:00 p.m. Perkiomen Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
Perkiomen Valley barely beat Norristown the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Vikings blew past the Eagles 11-3 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

The team relied heavily on Michael Strechay, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Andrew Keenan was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Spring-Ford had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Indians 3-1.
Spring-Ford also got a great performance from Ethan Freed as he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Freed has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Spring-Ford's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jake Witmer, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Ethan Schultz also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Perkiomen Valley pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Spring-Ford, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Perkiomen Valley has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Spring-Ford struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Perkiomen Valley beat Spring-Ford 5-1 in their previous meeting back in March. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
