Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in high school girls basketball. America's source for high school sports continues the tradition to close out the 2022-23 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in addition to local and state accolades.
Brooke Paquette of
Bishop Guertin (Nashua) is the 2022-23 MaxPreps New Hampshire High School Basketball Player of the Year. The 5-foot-7 senior led the Cardinals to a perfect record of 21-0 and the Division I state championship.
Paquette averaged 12.8 points per game for the season. She rose to the occasion in a pair of games against Bedford, scoring a season-high 30 points in a 73-66 in February. In the state title game rematch, she scored 14 points in the fourth quarter as part of a 24-point effort to bring Guertin from behind for a 51-45 victory.
Ahnay Adams of
Tilton School (Tilton) was the 2021-22 MaxPreps New Hampshire Player of the Year. She did it all for Tilton, averaging 22.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, 7.1 assists and 3.4 steals a game.
Each state's MaxPreps Player of the Year will be considered for inclusion in the MaxPreps All-America Team, which will be released in April.
