After a string of six wins, the Hapeville Charter Hornets's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of Druid Hills by a score of 61-58. Hapeville Charter was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Several Hornets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jonathan Goldson, who scored 21 points along with eight steals and six rebounds. Goldson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games he's played. Keith Parker was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.
Hapeville Charter's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-11. As for Druid Hills, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.
Hapeville Charter and the Pirates will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Stone Mountain is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Druid Hills, they will head out on the road to challenge the Golden Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Holy Innocents Episcopal will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive.
