The Weeki Wachee Hornets can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 52-13 win over Citrus at home. The win was a breath of fresh air for Weeki Wachee as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Weeki Wachee got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Marlee Schumacher out in front who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Schumacher hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Joelys Rodriguez, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Weeki Wachee's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Citrus, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-12.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Central the next time they take the court. Weeki Wachee will host Central at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Citrus will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
