The Faustina Academy Falcons are on the road again on Friday and play against the Methodist Children's Home Bulldogs. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Faustina Academy had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Community Christian 52-6 on the road. Given Faustina Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Community Christian is ranked 209th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Damian Sipe continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 100 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries, while also catching a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Will Behan, who picked up 66 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Methodist Children's Home entered their tilt with Grace Academy with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Methodist Children's Home beat Grace Academy on Friday by the very same score they won with last week: 50-0.
Methodist Children's Home had a senior duo take command as Elijah Williams rushed for 141 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries and Daraun Taylor rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown. Taylor's longest rush was for an incredible 77 yards.
Faustina Academy's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Methodist Children's Home, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1.
