St. Paul/Palmer has won five straight games at home, while Central City/Centura has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Wildcats will welcome the Kernels at 4:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
St. Paul/Palmer gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They won by a run and slipped past Twin River 5-4. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
The team relied heavily on Christian Lemburg, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Another player making a difference was Gatlin Reimers, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Central City/Centura posted their closest win since May 3, 2024 on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Wayne, sneaking past 4-3. Those four runs were actually the fewest the Kernels have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Conner Erickson was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
St. Paul/Palmer's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Central City/Centura, their win bumped their record up to 12-0.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. St. Paul/Palmer has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Central City/Centura struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
St. Paul/Palmer might still be hurting after the 10-4 loss they got from Central City/Centura in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Will the Wildcats have more luck at home instead of on the road?
