Estero was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as South Fort Myers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Estero's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lee Eckman, who scored 19 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Arrington, who scored 18 points.
Estero struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as South Fort Myers pulled down 15.
Leading South Fort Myers to victory were jose fabian and Lazaro Rodriguez. fabian scored 17 points, while Rodriguez scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Avery Thomas, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds.
Estero now has a losing record at 1-2. As for South Fort Myers, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Estero will face off against Island Coast at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Island Coast is ranked 371st, while Estero is ranked 390th). As for South Fort Myers, they will head out on the road to face off against Canterbury at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Canterbury is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
