The Lakewood Lancers pushed their score all the way to 56 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 67-56 to Jordan. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Lakewood came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while the Panthers are ranked 397th).
Lakewood lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Raphael Johnson, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. Devin Butler was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Lakewood and nudges their season record down to 20-8. As for Jordan, they pushed their record up to 14-14 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Lakewood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Jordan also has no future games currently scheduled.
