Basketball Recap: Cascade's Loss Ends 11-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Cascade was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. The match between them and the Northview Knights didn't end well, with the Cascade Cadets falling 42-27. While losing is never fun, the Cadets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 224th, while the Knights are ranked 98th).

Several Cadets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Addy Thompson, who posted five points and six boards. Thompson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

Northview was led to victory by Brynlee Clarke and Kambry Shoults. Clarke earned 15 points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks, while Shoults had 12 points along with five boards and four steals. That's the most blocks Clarke has posted since back in December of 2023. Carlee Schrader was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to five assists and five rebounds.

Cascade's loss ended an 11-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-10. As for Northview, they pushed their record up to 13-6 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home.

Cascade will challenge Martinsville at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Cascade is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.1 points per game this season. As for Northview, they will take on South Putnam at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
