Donovan Thiery made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out 12 over four innings pitched. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, two doubles, and one triple. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, Coral Shores got a big performance out of Maykol Bonito, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Bonito also stole a stolen base, marking his first of the season. AJ Putetti was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Coral Shores was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .542. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, ABF Academy Homestead came up short against Sunset on Tuesday and fell 9-6. The loss continues a trend for the Bandits in their matchups with the Knights: they've now lost three in a row.
ABF Academy Homestead also got a good showing from Kieth Aguas, who struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.
At the plate, Narvin Meyer made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. Another player making a difference was Alex Reguiera, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.
ABF Academy Homestead's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Coral Shores, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1-1.
