Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Monticello). They blew past the Pinnacle Panthers 19-8 on Wednesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Buckaroo as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Taylor Barry was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 15 batters over five innings while giving up five earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Barry was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jocelyne Francom, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
