Clint is 0-1 against Pecos since October of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Clint Lions will look to defend their home field against the Pecos Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Clint had just enough and edged Mountain View out 17-14.
Among those leading the charge was Colin Ivey, who rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns.
Pecos can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They claimed a resounding 59-19 win over Fabens at home.
Johnny Morales was on fire: he rushed for 172 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Rudy Quintela, who rushed for 88 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries.
Clint's win on Friday also bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Pecos, their victory on Friday also bumped their record up to an identical 3-4.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Clint has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 323.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Pecos struggles in that department as they've been averaging 218.1 per game. It's looking like Friday's contest might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Clint might still be hurting after the 33-7 defeat they got from Pecos when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Will Clint have more luck at home instead of on the road?
