There's no place like home for the Alcester-Hudson Cubs, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They pulled ahead with a 51-50 photo finish over Avon. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Alcester-Hudson also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Alcester-Hudson's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ethan Bovill, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and five assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Bovill has scored at least 25% of Alcester-Hudson's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic Van Egdom, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds and four steals.
The victory got Alcester-Hudson back to even at 3-3. As for Avon, they bumped their record down to 1-4 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Alcester-Hudson will be playing at home against Canistota at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Canistota has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 362 points over their last six matches. As for Avon, they will head out on the road to face off against Ethan at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ethan will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
