Tamaqua is 8-2 against Lehighton since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Tamaqua Blue Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Lehighton Indians at 7:00 p.m. Tamaqua knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Lehighton likes a good challenge.
Tamaqua pushed their score all the way to 60 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 68-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pottsville. The game was a 34-34 toss-up at halftime, but Tamaqua was outscored by Pottsville in the second.
Meanwhile, Lehighton scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They put the hurt on Jim Thorpe with a sharp 73-51 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Lehighton has posted since December 8, 2023.
Tamaqua has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Lehighton, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Tamaqua beat Lehighton 49-37 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tamaqua since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
