The victory was all the more spectacular given Notre Dame (SO)'s disadvantage in MaxPreps' national basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Harvard-Westlake is ranked fifth).
Chaminade's defeat dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Notre Dame (SO), they pushed their record up to 21-0 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
