There's no place like home for the Community Leadership Academy Lions, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They slipped by Taylor County 47-46 on Saturday.
Community Leadership Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Owen Brown, who scored 21 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Brown has scored at least a third of Community Leadership Academy's points. TJ Adams was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Despite the loss, Taylor County still got an impressive performance from Jakari Jackson, who scored 18 points along with six assists and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jackson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Allen Collier, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds.
Community Leadership Academy pushed their record up to 4-8 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Taylor County, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.
Community Leadership Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Jefferson County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jefferson County is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. As for Taylor County, they will head out on the road to face off against Madison County at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
