Woodridge hasn't had much luck against Springfield recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will take on the Spartans at 5:00 p.m. Woodridge has given up an average of 9.6 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Manchester hit Woodridge with a seven-run fourth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bulldogs came up short against the Panthers, falling 13-0. The Bulldogs just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Woodridge saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julia Elkins, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Elkins has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
Meanwhile, Springfield waltzed into their match on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with an 8-3 win over the Panthers.
Joey Klein was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Klein was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Kendall Crytzer was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Izzy Potter was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Springfield pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Woodridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-18.
Woodridge skirted past Springfield 8-7 in their previous meeting back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
