The Northwood Academy Chargers and the High Point Academy Grizzlies will round out the year against one another at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at. Northwood Academy is hoping to put an end to a nine-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Even though Riverpointe Christian Academy scored an imposing 56 points two weeks ago, Northwood Academy still came out on top. Northwood Academy pulled ahead with a 57-56 photo finish over Riverpointe Christian Academy. The victory was just what Northwood Academy needed coming off of a 77-49 loss in their prior game.
D Dickson was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points. The game was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Ty Washington was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, High Point Academy suffered a tough 67-46 defeat at the hands of Porter-Gaud on Thursday. While losing is never fun, High Point Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while Porter-Gaud is ranked 15th).
Northwood Academy's victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6. As for High Point Academy, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
