Front Range Christian has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Union Colony Prep Timberwolves at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Front Range Christian is ranked 319th, while Union Colony Prep is ranked 328th).
Front Range Christian's 15-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were dealt a 78-28 defeat at the hands of Heritage Christian on Thursday. Front Range Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-8.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ethan Martin, who scored four points. Another player making a difference was Haedan Morton, who scored four points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Union Colony Prep pushed their score all the way to 67 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Lyons at home by a decisive 85-67 margin. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Union Colony Prep in their matchups with Lyons: they've now lost eight in a row.
Like Front Range Christian, Union Colony Prep lost despite seeing results from several players. Tanner Sarchet led the charge by scoring 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sarchet has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Rodriguez, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds.
Even though they lost, Union Colony Prep were working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Front Range Christian bumped their record down to 0-8 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home. Union Colony Prep's record is now 1-8.
Tuesday's match is shaping up to be a scrappy game: Front Range Christian have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 25.1 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Union Colony Prep, though, as they've been averaging only 21.4 rebounds per game. Given Front Range Christian's sizeable advantage in that area, Union Colony Prep will need to find a way to close that gap.
Front Range Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Union Colony Prep in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 57-53 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Union Colony Prep's Kian Shaffer, who scored 22 points along with three steals. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Front Range Christian to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
